Marathon

Now in its 11th year, the marathon in Rwamagana has grown to become one of Africa's premier running events. Participants have come from all over the world, including from the USA, Ireland, Germany, the UK, Sweden, Finland, Japan, China, Australia, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Kenya.

It is fully accredited by the Rwanda Athletics Federation (RAF) and the Ministry of Culture and Sports in Rwanda (MINISPOC).

Run for Fun

The community fun run for young people and older people started in 2016 and proved to be a big hit with the locals in Rwamagana.

The event was the brainchild of the Rwamagana District authorities and is a way to involve all of the community in a healthy and sporting activity which is of benefit to everyone.

This has developed into a major community activity involving thousands of runners.
